We would like to thank, ALL of our Patrons, Donators, Volunteers and Club Members for an amazing 2020 season. Without all of you, we would not have been able to raise the money for the local youth organizations and the families in need this year.
Up Coming Events: Please like and follow our Face Book page below, and watch for up coming events. This spring, we will be organizing a plant sale fundraiser.
With your help, the club was able to raise $35,000.00 for the local food banks this season.
For over seven decades, the Peninsula Optimist Club in the St. Johns community of Portland, Oregon, has provided scholarships for students at Roosevelt High School who will attend a community college or vocational school after graduation.
The scholarships are made possible by the Christmas tree sales held every year in the Memorial Christmas Tree Lot at the corner of N. Lombard and N. Chautauqua Blvd. Additional funds are raised through Fourth of July fireworks sales.
In addition to scholarships, the Optimists also donate money in support of many youth organizations (click on donor recipient tab above). As Optimists, we believe that our 74-year history of constant work for and commitment to youth has entitled us to proudly display on our sign at N. Lombard and N. Chautauqua: Friends of the Youth.
The Portland-Peninsula Optimist Club of Oregon was chartered in 1946.
All adult (age 18 and over) volunteers for the tree lot must complete the volunteer background.
